Ansons Bay is a small fishing and tourist coastal town in the North East Region of Tasmania, located about 165 km east of Launceston and is close to St. Helens. Historically the area was nautically known as `The Bay of Fires`. Although isolated for many years, the village has an interesting heritage dating back to 1830. Ansons Bay is renowned as a premier fishing location especially for bream. Ansons Bay is a favourite holiday spot, much loved for its peaceful seclusion and wider range of activities and lovely accommodation and camping grounds. You can visit the Eddystone Lighthouse located about 13 km north of Ansons Bay on the northern end of the Bay of Fires.
