Balgal Beach is located about 250 km south of Cairns and 60 km north of Townsville in the Townsville Region on the tropical North Queensland coast. It is only a very short boat trip from Balgal Beach to the Great Barrier Reef and the Palm Islands, with their wonderful fishing and superb snorkelling and scuba diving. Balagal Beach is close to the town of Rollingstone. Balgal Beach has excellent recreational, a great boat ramp and arrange of other facilities for tourists and holiday makers. There is excellent fishing off the sand beach and in the broad creek mouth. There are a number of other beaches in the Thuringowa area that offers a range of attractions and facilities. There are a number of natural reserve areas close by including The Paluma Range National Park that boasts Mt Spec, Jourama Falls and Little and Big Crystal Creek. There is a network of bush walking tracks in the areas that provide access to the wonderful tropical flora and fauna in this region. There is a range of places to stay in the Balgal Beach area.
