Balhannah is a small town in the Adelaide Hills Region located about 30 km southeast of Adelaide. It was originally established in 1839 as a rural farming community and is now part of the thriving Adelaide Hills Wine Region and tourist area. Balhannah is famous for its chocolate shop - pure indulgence. There are also many wineries nearby including: Shaw and Smith Wines and Nepenthe Wines. The Balhannah Hotel and Stanley Bridge Hotel (Verdun) are very popular and there are many fine cafes and restaurants including Maximilian Restaurant.
