The name Mission Beach, applies not only to Mission Beach itself but to a number of coastal towns that extend along the coast east of Tully. To the North of Mission Beach town are Garners Beach and Bingil Bay Beach, and the south is Wongaling Beach. Bingil Bay, located about 5 km north of Mission Beach is a beautiful beach with a line of holiday houses enclosed by rainforest only 50m from the beach. Bingil Bay is very secluded and picturesque with a fringing line of coconut trees. It is regarded y many as the prettiest beach in the Mission Beach area. The spectacular Dunk Island lies just off the coast. Bingil Bay has a small general store but limited other facilities, but it is so close to Mission Beach that this does not matter. You should take the walk around to Brookes Beach and the Bicton Hill walk to really get in touch with the local environment. There is a good range of accommodation close to the beach at Bingil Bay and Mission Beach.
