Lake Cootharaba is the biggest lake in the Noosa River catchment area, and it is the starting point for the Noosa Everglades, the upper Noosa River and the renowned Great Sandy National Park. Boreen Point has a range of holiday accommodation including holiday houses, units and cottages, caravan parks. There is also a well-stocked general store and excellent boat hire facilities and boat ramps. Boreen Point is the home of a large sailing club, which hosts major sailing events including sailboarding titles. There is an excellent camping ground at Boreen Point right on the shores of Lake Cootharaba. Boreen Point is a wonderful place for a coastal holiday.
