Bowen is an ideal gateway destination for a relaxing holiday in the Whitsundays area of North Queensland. Bowen is located on the shores of Edgecumbe Bay, only about 40 minutes drive from Airlie Beach. Bowen offers anglers a great range of beach, reef, river, rock, shore, and estuary fishing and there a range of fishing charter tours available. The picturesque town of Bowen is surrounded by islands to the east and mountains to the west. The most popular beaches at Bowen are Horseshoe Bay, Greys Bay and Rose Bay. Bowen has a set of magnificent fringing reefs that are close to the shore and so can be easily accessed by snorkellers and scuba divers right off the beach. There is a wonderful range of beachfront accommodation in Bowen and excellent sporting and recreational facilities.
