Brunswick Heads, located just north of Byron Bay, has a great array of holiday activities and scenic sites without the crowds at Byron! Brunswick Heads is essentially a coastal fishing village but is now a very popular holiday destination. It has spectacular beaches and lovely waterways. The beach extends all the way to Byron Bay, and you can run, stroll, ride or jog all the way to Byron along the beach! Located at the mouth of the Brunswick River there is a wide range of boating, fishing and sailing activities to choose from. Brunswick Heads has a fishing fleet, boat harbour and you can buy fresh fish from the Brunswick-Byron Fishermen's Co-operative. A wide range of water sport activities are available including windsurfing, surfing, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, Kite surfing, charter fishing, snorkelling and boating. The beautiful parklands in and around Brunswick Heads provide a wonderful environment with easy walking access to the river, breakwater and beach. Safe and sheltered river inlet beaches and the ocean beaches are just a short walk from town across the delightful footbridge. You can fish from the beaches, breakwater, rock walls or boats in the river or offshore in the ocean. There is a sheltered harbour, launching ramps and ocean access through the breakwater.
