- Where to Go, What to See and Do
Perched high on the beautful red, fertile soils of Buderim Mountain overlooking the Sunshine Coast is the delightful small town of Buderim, which exemplifies what the Sunshine Coast hinterland is all about - charming villages with delightful foods, cafes restaurants, bed and breakfasts and a variety of arts and crafts. Although the traditional local industries have been timber, citrus, sugar, coffee and bananas - to modern Australian, Buderim is recognised for its ginger with an incredible wide variety of products available. The famous Ginger Factory, originally located in Buderim, has been moved to Yandina, but the factory is now home to a major theme park and tourist attraction. The continuing link with the timber industry is maintained in the restored timber cottages and the timber based arts and crafts. The area has a beautiful array of Nature Reserves and National Parks which are a delight for bushwalking, picnics and barbeques, nature appreciation and ecotourism. The natural areas includes Buderim Forest Park, Mooloolah River National Park and the beautiful Foote Sanctuary. Buderim lies in ten heart of the Sunshine Coast, less than 10 minutes from the famous beaches and resort towns of Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Alexandra Headlands, which offer a wide range of beach attractions from surfing, swimming, boating and fishing. Buderim has an excellent range of delightful places to stay, to use as a base, for exploring the huge range of things to do in the surrounding area and on the nearby Sunshine Coast.
