Butterfly Gorge National Park - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions
- Where to Go, What to See and Do

Listed Below are the Butterfly Gorge National Park - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.
The Butterfly Gorge National Park, located in the Darwin and Surrounds Region of the Northern Territory, is situated at the base of a low-lying sandstone plateau and features rocky spinifex country, and sheer rock faces bordered by dense riparian vegetation. The area has lovely shaded walks along the river and beautiful scenery. The cool crevices in the rock faces provide shelter for thousands of Common Crow Butterflies - hence the name. The Park is about 130 km from Katherine and 200 km from Darwin along the scenic route of the old Stuart Highway. The final 17 km into the Park is a four wheel drive track. The park protects the section of Douglas River upstream of the Daly River Junction. The main swimming area and the gorge are close to the car park and you can reach the upper pools by swimming across the main pool and through the narrow gorges.
