Byaduk is a township located in the Western District of Victoria. The town is famous for the Byaduk Caves, which are part of a lava flow from Mount Napier that solidified forming caves when the molten lava continuing to flow beneath. The caves contain stalictites and stalagmites, wrinkles, columns and ropy lava. Byaduk Caves are the most accessible and extensive set of lava caves in Victoria. Only the Harmans 1 cave is open to the public. Bentwing bats spend winter in some of the caves. The caves are closed during the winter torpor period for the bats.
