The main rural enterprises are fat lambs, dairying and cattle. Camperdown has many attractions with scenic crater lakes and the volcanic outcrops in the surrounding countryside. The closest lakes to the town are Purrumbete and Bullen Merri, both of which are excellent fishing spots. Further east is Lake Corangamite, which is Victoria`s largest salt water lake. A short drive to the south is Timboon, where you can stroll along the Old Railway Line walk and visit the Timboon Farmhouse Cheese and. Port Campbell and the spectacular Great Ocean Road are only a further 18 km south of Timboon. Visit the Camperdown Buggy Museum that contains a wonderful collection of superbly restored carriages.
