Cannonvale is a large waterfront village and accommodation centre located about five minutes west of the Whitsunday gateway town of Airlie Beach. The Cannonvale area is essentially a residential and service town for the tourism industry and is home to many local residents. Cannonvale is a much quieter town than Airlie Beach and lacks the entertainment facilities, but it has a greater variety of places to stay than either Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour. Cannonvale has many street cafes and restaurants dotted along the charming, palm-lined streets. It is a great place to stay as a gateway to the Whitsundays.
