It is also well known and its two rainforest lodges - Binna Burra and O'Reilly`s. Canungra is also popular for hang-gliding and para-gliding with several operators offering flights from the western slopes of Mt Tamborine. Canungra began as a timber town but now is focused on beef cattle and dairying. The town has cafes, restaurants, wineries, shops and a good range of accommodation. The historic Lahey`s Tramway Tunnel is a remnant of the sawmilling heritage in the area.
