The seaside resort and service centre of Cape Jervis is located about 110 km south of Adelaide, on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Cape Jervis is the departure point for the main passenger and vehicular ferry to the magnificent Kangaroo Island. Cape Jervis is very scenic with beautiful views over Backstairs Passage and the coastline. Cape Jervis is a favourite fishing spot from the shore, beach and boats, and also offers many charter fishing tours. Cape Jervis is also the gateway to many fascinating and scenic nature parks in the area that are ideal for bushwalking, bird watching and nature appreciation, including the renowned Heysen Trail. Deep Creek Conservation Park is a coastal wilderness area about 13 km from Cape Jervis on the southern side of the Fleurieu Peninsula with a network of fantastic bushwalks. Some of the other attractions in the area are: # Talisker Conservation Park # The Heysen Trail - a wonderful walking track from Cape Jervis to the Flinders Ranges # Rapid Bay is a spectacular expanse of coastline north of Cape Jervis which features a jetty, beautiful pebbly beach, rocky headlands, great bushwalking, fishing and diving. # Second Valley also has an excellent fishing jetty.
