The beautiful beach is 3 km long and faces south-west towards the entrance to Frederick Henry Bay. The entire stretch of sandy beach is fringed by a coastal reserve containing a 10-15 metre high fore-dune, which hides the tow of holiday houses on each side of Carlton Beach Road. There are several walking tracks through the dune that provide access to the beach. The famous Carlton Park Surf Life Saving Club, that was founded in 1975, is located in a recreation reserve at the eastern end of the beach. Carlton Beach is a great spot for a family holiday with a wide range of attractions and good facilities and accommodation.
