Carrickalinga is close to some great wine regions, and it is only 30 minutes to Victor Harbour that is very popular for boat cruises, whale watching and fishing charters. There are fantastic scenic views of Kangaroo Island from nearby Cape Jervis which is a great place for a visit. The beaches at Carrickalinga are long and wide, with beautiful white sand and sheltered waters just ideal families to enjoy. Haycock Point, a scenic volcanic outcrop, separates North Carrickalinga Beach and South Carrickalinga Beach. For golfers the Sunset Cove Resort has a premier golf course and Yankalilla also has its own golf course, and a wonderful sporting complex. There is excellent fishing from boats, shore and beaches around Carrickalinga. There is an excellent beach boat ramp at Normanville and another all-weather ramp at the Sunset Cove Resort Marina. Bushwalkers will enjoy the Tjilbruke Trail that follows the coastline through Carrickalinga.
