Ceduna is located about 780 km west of Adelaide on the western Eyre Peninsula, in the Far West Coast Region of South Australia. The picturesque Ceduna coastline has magnificent, rugged rocky bays, serene, white sandy beaches and natural bushland and landscapes. Ceduna is the renowned for its wonderful beaches, swimming and surfing, and especially for its magnificent fishing and is known as the home of the iconic King George Whiting. The Ceduna area is also renowned for its oysters and aquaculture centred on Denial Bay and Smoky Bay. Surfers are attracted to the excellent surfing nearby and at Cactus Beach. Beach fishing enthusiasts target Mulloway, Gummy Shark and Salmon and the Ceduna area is popular for boat fishing, charter boats and sailing. Head to the whale watching area at the Head of the Bight, to where Southern Right Whales migrate to mate and calve their young during the months from April to September.
