Charleville is a small town in the South Western Region of Queensland, located abut 760 km west of Brisbane on the banks of the magnificent Warrego River. Charleville is the heart of Queensland`s famous mulga country and is the largest town in the region. The mulga country is rich in history, flora and fauna and is a wonderful place to visit and explore its many attractions. You can take the Charleville Heritage Trail for a guided stroll through the history of the town and its many heritage buildings and the historical museum. Visit the Cosmos Centre and Observatory and see the stars in the beautiful clear skies of the region. Kangaroos, emus, birds of prey and a huge variety of native animals can be seen at the various National Parks in the area surrounding Charlevile. The local National Parks Research Station is focused on saving the unique Bilby. You can join tours to see the delightful Bilby at the research station.
