The Cobourg Peninsula in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, is located in the Aboriginal owned Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, along side the Cobourg Marine Park. It is situated about 570 km north east of Darwin, and can be accessed by road, or via a 50 minute flight in a light aircraft, or a 150 nautical mile cruise from Darwin by boat. This area has stunning features: stunning red cliffs, beautiful white sandy beaches, wetlands teeming with fish and wildlife and clear tropical ocean waters, where the fish such as barramundi are as abundant. The area is well known for its fishing charters, ecotourism and tourist fishing lodges. The Garig Gunak Barlu National Park is a major tourist attraction, known for its pristine wilderness, diverse marine life and its Aboriginal culture.
