Corrimal and the neighbouring towns at the base of the escarpment, developed after a coal mine at Mount Corrimal began production in the 1880`s. Popular attractions and recreational activities at Corrimal are focused on the beach, bush and the Bellambi Harbour. The harbour is a popular for fishing and boat launching with a boat ramp and plenty of parking for cars and trailers and the local Coastguard. The Wollongong City Council maintains the Bellambi and Towradgi Rock pools for swimming and these lovely pools are open all year round. Corrimal is an ideal beach and boating holiday location with beaches running south and north of the Towradgi Creek estuary. Corrimal beach is relatively small beach, but the adjacent beaches at Bellambi and Fairy Meadow provide long stretches of golden sand and great surf. There is a wide range of beachside places to stay at Corrimal which has an excellent array of attractions and facilities for a memorable holiday.
