The caves are located about 15 m below the surface, and are home to a variety of native wildlife, including the rare orange horseshoe bat and the brown tree snake. Two species of blind, colourless shrimp inhabit the cave. Around 170 species of birds have been recorded in the park, including the Gouldian finch and Hooded parrot. Above the caves the park is dominated by open woodland however there are unique clusters of tropical rainforest /vine thicket.
