Listed Below are the Daly River- Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.Daly River is the name of a river and a town south of Darwin in the Northern Territory. The Daly River is a large, beautiful river lined by dense jungle that is home to large barramundi and crocodiles that is located south of Darwin and west of Katherine. There is a huge network of waterways with many creeks feeding into the Daly. Most tourists come to the Daly to catch Barramundi, but there is a wide range of other activities available. The other species of fish targeted by anglers are Threadfin Salmon, Black Bream, River Shark and Catfish. Today the town of Daly River is little more than a pub with a few motel units, a police station, and a caravan park. It is located on the banks of the river close to the Daly River Crossing. The town is the gateway for visitors to explore the Daly River Nature Park and go fishing for barramundi. Nearby is the small town of Woolianna, a camping and caravan park on the banks of the river, one of several such parks in the area. Also nearby is the Nauiyu Aboriginal Community and Merrepen Arts Centre where you can buy Aboriginal artifacts. The Daly River hosts two major fishing competitions annually, the `Barra Classic` and the `Barra Nationals`. The best barramundi fishing is usually at the end of the wet season.
