Deloraine is a charming and historic town and tourist centre located on the banks of the Meander River, in the foothills of the Great Western Tiers mountain range. It is situated in the North Central Region of Tasmania, about 50 km west of Launceston and 230 km north of Hobart. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing walk through the main streets, lined with Victorian and Georgian buildings, many which have been carefully restored, including the historic bridge, the Baptist Tabernacle and Bonney`s Inn. Deloraine is the home of the famous Tasmanian Craft Fair, which is the largest in Australia, featuring 200 exhibits from Australia`s finest crafts people in November each year, spread over 12 fantastic venues, and including more than 200 incredible stalls. You can also explore the 41 Degrees South Salmon Farm and Ginseng Farm that features self-guided eco-tours through a range of vegetation habitats including wetland and woodland areas. See the fish farm and learn all about ginseng.
