You can walk around town and explore the charming array of shops including a wide range of goods such as antiques, modern crafts, second-hand books, and enjoy a traditional Devonshire tea. See Blue Lake between Pioneer and Gladstone, which is a remnant of the mining days and the water used in sluicing the ore. Each October, the crazy Derby River Derby race is held that attracts visitors from all over Tasmania.
