Eighty Mile Beach is famous for its fishing and shell collecting and its seclusion. Eighty Mile Beach is an important wetland that is used as a resting and feeding ground for migratory birds. The area supports about 500,000 of these migratory waders, from 20 species that visit the area each year. The beach is a wonderful fishing destination.
