Ellis Beach, one of Cairns` renowned Northern Beaches, is located just north of the rocky headland that separates it from bustling and busy Palm Cove. Ellis Beach has all the charm and beauty of Palm Cove but is less developed, more natural, more secluded and peaceful - just what you need for a restful holiday. Ellis Beach has a long narrow strip of sand that is about 1 km long. There is generally very little swell or surf here because of the sheltering effects of Double Island offshore and the rocky outcrop at the southern end of the beach. There is excellent fishing at the southern end of the beach. Ellis Beach is a great base for a relaxing holiday by the sea, and from which you can explore all the attractions and activities in this beautiful area.
