Elliston is an important service town for the local sheep and wheat industries and has a spectacular coastline that attracts holiday makers. It is an ideal holiday destination for swimming, fishing, surfing, boating, kayaking, diving and walking along the rugged sandstone cliffs. There are wonderful caves around the bay and natural reefs offshore that are heaven for divers. Launch your own boat or join a charter fishing trip for wonderful fishing in Waterloo Bay and offshore, or you can catch a bag full from the jetty or the beach. Head north to Anxious Bay that has magnificent cliff top views and access to the renowned surfing spot at Blackfellows. Locks Well Beach located 15kms south of Elliston is a renowned fishing spot. Visit Lake Newland Conservation Park with its wonderful lake system and bird watching areas. Walkers Rocks features an excellent bay for swimming, snorkelling and fishing. The Talia Caves, 40 km north west of Elliston has spectacular patterns worn into limestone roofs by years of sea and wind. See the large mural in Elliston painted by local artists and the community. There are fascinating outcrops of fossils on the two headlands of Waterloo Bay - Wellington and Wellesley Points.
