The delightful Blue Mountains holiday town of Faulconbridge is located about 75 km from Sydney and 445 m above sea level. It is famous for its wonderful bushwalks, Norman Lindsay`s house and as the burial place of Sir Henry Parkes, the `Father of Federation`. The grave is located in the Faulconbridge Cemetery, just opposite the railway station in Sir Henry Parkes Drive. On Sir Henry`s Parade is the Prime Ministers` Corridor of Oaks, established by Joseph Jackson in 1933 with the intention of having every Australian Prime Minister, or a nearest surviving relative, plant an oak tree there. Between Faulconbridge and Springwood is the famous Australian Artist, Norman Lindsay`s house, which has been renovated and converted into a museum and gallery. The Grose River can be accessed via a fire trail which extends from the end of Grose Road and through the bush to Faulconbridge Point lookout. The river has excellent scenery and offers fishing and bushwalking. From the lookout, there is an excellent bushwalk along a path that drops steeply into the gorge.
