Flying Fish Point is situated east of Innisfail, on the northern shore at the mouth of the Johnstone River. It is one of the best estuary fishing locations in North Queensland. There are two boat ramps at Flying Fish Point and the major target species are Barramundi, Mangrove jack, trevally, whiting and mackeral. Fishing off the beach is also very popular with locals and tourists. If you rent one of the beachfront houses in Flying Fish Point you can literally fish off the verandah ! There is very good range of luxury holiday houses and villas available for rent and also an excellent caravan park, close to the beach. Flying Fish Point has a Post Office and a General Store and many attractions and activities.
