Frankland is a small town in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia, located about 360 km Perth, 42 km west of the Albany Highway, 90 km east of Manjimup and 83 km southwest of Kojonup. Frankland derives its location close to the Frankland River which offers a wonderful range of attractions including fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking on the Frankland River near Walpole on the south coast. At about 400 km in length the Frankland River is the longest river catchment that flows into the Walpole-Nornalup Inlet. The Frankland River estuary is a fantastic fishing spot and is renowned for its water birds and wildlife and is a great spot for fishing, boating canoeing and kayaking. The stunning Frankland River region is renowned for its rolling hills, rich farming land, natural forests and bushland abundant with native wildflowers that bloom in spring. The region has some outstanding vineyards and wineries with cellar doors, and a large olive grove.
