Gordonvale is a small sugar town on the Mulgrave River, located about 23 km south of the Centre of Cairns and is just east of the Gillies Range which is the gateway to the Atherton Tableland. Gordonvale is a friendly town with interesting shops, historic buildings and good facilities. Close to Gordonvale is the `Gordonvale Pyramid` the highest free-standing mountain peak in the world (that is not part of a mountain range) which is 922 m in height. From Gordonvale there is access to all the attractions and activities of the Atheton Tablelands via the Gillies Highway.
