Greenough has a reputation as one of the most interesting historical towns in Australia with well preserved nineteenth buildings. There are many attractions and excellent tourist facilities for fishing, surfing swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, diving and snorkeling and strolling along the scenic coastline. The unique leaning Eucalyptus trees sculptured by the wind at an angle of ninety degrees, are fascinating attractions. Greenough River mouth, with its golden sand dunes is also a major attractions. Drive or walk through the historic Greenough Flats, which is a collection of 11 restored original buildings. The Pioneer Museum has one of the best collections in Australia. Visit Ellendale Pool at the foot of high cliffs and surrounded by tall shady trees is about 25 minutes drive from Greenough. In spring there are wonderful displays of wildflowers. Greenough offers a range of accommodation, from hotels, motels, resorts, historic buildings, farm stays, bed and breakfasts and caravan parks.
