Gregory National Park is the 2nd biggest National Park in the Northern Territory, covering an area of around 13,000 square km in a region on the border between the tropical and semi-arid zones. The Park features spectacular ranges, escarpments, gorges, eucalypt woodlands significant remnants of Aboriginal culture and European exploration and pastoral history. The park also offers boating, canoeing, bushwalking, and Aboriginal Art appreciation. There are several tour operators that operate in the Park, and information about these tours can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre. There are a number of excellent walks in the park including the 3 km long (return) bushwalk along the Escarpment Walk and the more rocky 1.7 km loop walk on the Nawulbinbin (Joe Creek) Loop. Close to the roadhouse you can launch your boat and get access to Victoria River. Distinctive Boab Trees occur throughout the park. There many great spots for fishing and camping. You can get information and book scenic flights and commercial boat tours from the Victoria River Roadhouse and Timber Creek.
