Harrington is located where the Manning River discharges into the sea, near Crowdy Head. Close by are all the attractions of Crowdy Bay National Park, which has many fantastic fishing spots and bushwalking and camping areas along the road through to Diamond Head. The northern arm of the Manning River discharges into the ocean near Harrington and the spectacular scenery from Pilot Hill Lookout along the coast is very popular for whale watching. The offshore reefs and sand banks, the estuary, river, breakwater and coastal bay and inlets and beaches provide great angling opportunities. There are many places to stay at Harrington, Crowdy Head, both of which have excellent recreational facilities. There are additional attractions and activities available in the other town of the Mid North coast area.
