The charming and secluded seaside fishing village of Hat Head is located about 25 km east of Kempsey, between Hat Head National Park and the sea. Due to its position at the mouth of Korongo Creek, anglers at Hat Head have many choices - fishing off the rocks in the river and headlands, fishing in the surf at the beach or fishing outside using your own boat or one of the local charter craft to chase Spanish mackerel, marlin and other species offshore. You can climb to the top of Hat Hill to get a panoramic view of the coastline. You can visit South West Rocks and Crescent Head which located a short distance away at the boundaries of Hat Head National Park. Nambucca Heads is about 80 km along the coast to the north. Hat Head has a wide range of facilities supporting a wide range of tourist activities and recreation pursuits.
