It ideally located in the Shire of Yarra Ranges, about 70 km east of Melbourne, to stay and use as a base for a holiday in the Yarra Valley or for day-trips from Melbourne. The area has many fine wineries including Hoddles Creek Estate of the Yarra Valley which was established in 1997, and has since gained rave reviews from some of Australia`s premier wine-writers. The vineyard lies on Gembrook road and is adjacent to Hoddles Creek. The steeply sloping blocks prevent mechanical harvesting and so with both vineyards are hand pruned and harvested. All their wines are single variety grown on the estate. There are many cellar doors and food outlets for sampling the local wine and food products.
