Horseshoe Bay is by far the largest bay on Magnetic Island and it is a great place for all kinds of recreation: including: kayak trips, fishing, cruising, swimming, fishing and sailing. Where else can you can enjoy the unique pleasure of swimming on horseback. There are stinger net enclosures for safe year-round swimming. Two thirds of Magnetic Island is protected as National Park and there are wonderful bushwalks and scenic tracks all around the island. Views from the roads and well designed walking tracks are renowned as some of the most spectacular in the world. You will often see Koalas in the trees beside the tracks and a visit to the local wildlife sanctuary should be on your agenda. Rock wallabies are also common on the island. The Horseshoe Bay Beach corridor is a thriving area with many bars, cafes, shops and restaurants many of which feature live entertainment.
