Kapunda is a rural service town in the Clare Valley Region in South Australia, located about 79 km north of Adelaide. Kapunda is a large and prosperous towns servicing the local rural community which has a heritage linked to of copper mining, and Sir Sidney Kidman`s huge cattle properties. Links to mining is showcased by the statue of Map Kernow (the Son of Cornwall) a large 8 m high bronze statue of a Cornwell miner at the entrance to the town. The Celtic festival which is held on the weekend before Easter also celebrates the links to Cornwall. The Kapunda Museum has a wonderful historic collection displayed in the original Baptist Church. You an also visit the Bagot`s Fortune interpretive mining centre.
