Lake Kawana is very popular for water sports including canoeing, kayaking, paddle boards, dragon boat racing and general boating. There are great walking and bicycle tracks on the shore of the lake. There is a marina at the northern end of Kawana and the Mooloolaba Yacht Club on the river. Kawana Shopping World is a famous large shopping mall. Kawana has excellent boating, fishing and surfing along the beautiful coastline in the area. Point Cartwright, at the northern end of the beach, is part of a great walking track along the coastline.
