Kumbarilla in a small deserted town surrounded by State Parks about 40 km south-west of Dalby in the Western Downs Region. The natural habitat is Poplar box and open grass country dotted with lagoons and river red gums along the Condamine River, gradually transforming into belah and bulloak scrub and open brigalow. There are some wetlands and swamp areas along the watercourses and some Vine scrub. The area has a rich bird population including various Honeyeaters, Waterbirds and Parrots.
