Kyogle is surrounded by a large areas of remnant rainforest and lies adjacent to the Border Ranges National Park (World Heritage listed), and The McPherson, Tweed and Richmond Ranges. Kyogle is a rich grazing area and a tourist centre focused on the forest areas and the outstanding range of plants, animals and birds. The Fairy Mountain is celebrated each year in July at the Fairymount Festival of Fairytales.
