Lavers Hill is a beautiful area, and the town provides for the needs of tourists, featuring a bakery, shops, cafes, a hotel with a bistro and information centres. Situated on one of the highest point on the Great Ocean Road, there are spectacular views of the rolling hills and forests of the Otway Ranges. Lavers Hill is the gateway for exploring the natural attractions of the area, including the Hopetoun Falls, Triplet Falls and Beauchamp Falls in the Great Otway National Park that surrounds much of the town. The Melba Gully area, located just south of the town centre, features glow worms at night on trails through the forests. The Otway Fly - an elevated tree top walk through an exquisite forest, with a 45 m high lookout tower, is located about 20 minute drive north-east of Lavers Hill. There are some attractive beaches close to Lavers Hill, including Johanna Beach and Glenaire, which is noted for good fishing as well as surfing.
