Listed Below are the Laverton - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.

Laverton is a typical Outback Western Australia mining town that is located about 410 km north of Kalgoorlie and about 118 km east of Leonora. The fascinating town of Laverton was originally a gold mining town which essentially died in the 1950s when the mine closed. But the mining has been revitalised by the discovery of nickel and the opening of a major nickel mine in the area. The nickel mine at Mount Windarra can be seen from the lookout at the top of Mount Windarra; take the gravel road to the summit. About 30 km northwest of Windarra is the old site of the renowned Poseidon venture. The share price for Poseidon stocks sky-rocketed from 80 cents to $280 in five months and then crashed. Laverton is very popular with tourists primarily for its 4WD trails and heritage tours. There are remote tracks from Laverton to Cooper Pedy and to the Gunbarrel Highway, connecting from the Great Central Road. Laverton has a wide range of accommodation including the local caravan park, motel and pubs, making this delightful town an essential stop-over for travellers and tourists on the Outback Highway.
