- Where to Go, What to See and Do

Listed Below are the Leonora - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.
Leonora is a mining town in the Golden Outback Region of Western Australia, located about 830 km northeast of Perth, and 240 km north of Kalgoorlie. Leonora is primarily a mining town with number of major gold mines in the area and the Murrin Murin laterite nickel project in the area. There is also sheep and cattle grazing. The main street of Leonora, Tower Street, has remained largely unchanged since the turn of the century, with shops and footpath verandahs, old buildings and hotels showing what life was like in the early days. Many of the older buildings are constructed of corrugated iron and hessian. See the Courthouse, the Post Office and the old fire station all built in 1903. A good overall view of Leonora can be obtained from the top of Smoodgers Hill. Visit the Gwalia Historical Museum and the little area of 20 original old miners` camps, lovingly restored by the local community. Leonora is a fully serviced town with a caravan park, motel, two hotels and two roadhouses.
