To the north lies Cape Moreton. Point Lookout is Queensland`s most easterly point and the rocky headland overlooking the Pacific Ocean is the perfect spot for whale-watching from June to November. Humpback whales move past North Gorge Headland when migrating from Antarctica northwards to the Barrier Reef. There are some spectacular bushwalking trails around North Stradbroke Island. The longest walk is from Point Lookout to Dunwich via Myora Springs. There are also several walks around the Blue Lake National Park an area rich in wildlife. Take a swim in Blue Lake, as well as in Tortoise Lagoon and Brown Lake. Starting from Blue Lake you can walk along the beach to Point Lookout via Keyhole Lake. Point Lookout also offers many water-based activities, including surfing, boating, canoeing, fishing and sea kayaking and diving are also very popular. There is a wide range of places on the beachfront at Point Lookout.
