Listed Below are the Mackerel Islands - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.The Mackerel Islands are located 22 km off the coast of Onslow, on the Pilbara Coast south of Karratha, are 10 pristine coral atolls providing magical condition for diving, boating, fishing, turtle watching, bird watching or just plain relaxing. The crystal clear, blue waters are home to pristine coral reefs with a spectacular array of reef fish and coral formations - a wonderful resource for snorkeling and scuba diving. The fishing is also spectacular, both from the beach or from boats offshore. There is accommodation on two of the island: Direction Island and Thevenard Island. You can learn to dive on Thevenard Island which is a certified PADI dive resort. There are many attractions and activities on the islands including: Diving and fishing charters, snorkeling tours, whale watching tours and sunset scenic cruises. Flights are available to Learmonth Airport, and you can transfer to Thevenard Island via private air charter. Boat transfers are available from Onslow.
