Macksville is a small North Coast town on the Nambucca River located about 10 km south of Nambucca Heads and 500 km north of Sydney. Macksville is a tourism, oyster-farming and fishing centre which services a productive rural area focused on vegetables, bananas and other tropical fruits, cattle, dairying and timber. The magnificent, wide Nambucca River offers many recreational opportunities, such as kayaking, fishing, boating, sailing, canoeing, jet skiing, waterskiing and surfing at the nearby beaches.
