Manning Point is and ideal place for a holiday or weekend getaway, located on a sandy point at the mouth of the Manning River, about 30 km south-east of Taree and 200 km north of Newcastle. The fishing is fantastic at Manning Point, which has a huge variety of fishing places to try - river, surf, rock, headland, beach, estuary and offshore. There are also many great places for surfing and swimming at Hallidays Point, Harrington, Old Bar, Diamond Beach, Saltwater, or Crowdy Head. Many of these beaches offer sheltered conditions for families and are great for beach walks and just relaxing at the beach. Away from the beach there are many bushland areas to explore such as Boorgana Nature Reserve, Middle Brother State Forest, Bulga Forest, and Crowdy Bay National Park.
