Marlo is a small holiday and fishing town located about 400 km east of Melbourne, at the mouth of the Snowy River, 14 km south of Orbost. In the 1800s Marlo was an river port used by schooners, paddle steamers and ketches plying the lower Snowy River. Marlo has superb fishing and excellent bushwalking and is known as the gateway to the Wilderness Coast and the upper Snowy River and Highlands. Marlo has many attractions and excellent facilities for a wide range of water sports such as sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, canoeing, rafting, water skiing, wind surfing and swimming. Marlo has an excellent jetty, a Fishing Club, Yachting Club and Water Rescue Unit. Some of the major attractions and events include: # Exploring Cape Conran Coastal Park # Fishing from the jetty, river banks of the Snowy and Brodribb Rivers, and the ocean beaches and headlands.
