Metung is a small town located on a peninsula jutting into Gippsland Lakes, about 310 km east of Melbourne. Metung is popular with tourists and boating enthusiasts who are attracted by its sandy beaches, a over a kilometre long stretch of boardwalk and public jetties. Metung is a great place to hire a charter boat or take a pleasure cruise and explore the more that 400 square kilometres of the Gippsland Lakes waterways. There is great fishing and sailing and many fine restaurants and cafes and local galleries to explore and enjoy. You can watch the yacht races and relax over a meal at the Metung Yacht Club, or play golf at the spectacular course at Kings Cove. There are many attractions and activities to enjoy at Metung and in the surrounding shoreline towns.
